The Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence (MAAPE), a Baldrige-based awards program serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, is seeking applicants and examiners for its 2018 Awards cycle.
MAAPE is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation that helps all types of organizations improve their performance and outcomes, including productivity, workforce engagement, competitiveness, and customer and stakeholder satisfaction. The MAAPE process is modeled after the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, which uses specific criteria to perform low-cost, non-prescriptive assessments that address each applicant’s unique challenges. Intent to Apply forms are due by January 5, 2018 with applications submitted by mid-March. MAAPE is also seeking examiners, volunteers who want to help drive breakthrough improvement in their own organizations, and learn and promote role-model practices. They are selected based on knowledge of the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, industry expertise, communication and leadership skills, and team-participation experience. Examiner applications are due by January 12, 2018.
Participating in the MAAPE Awards process goes beyond receiving recognition as a regional role model. Every applicant receives a feedback report detailing strengths and opportunities to continue improving its performance. Submitting an application is a practical step organizations can take to help achieve their goals. Direct questions to Robert Bitner, MAAPE’s president and chief executive officer.
