Call for Volunteers- Delaware Valley Science Fairs

The 2020 DVSF will be April 6 – 9 at the Greater Phila. Expo Center (Phoenixville PA)
Why I should volunteer at Delaware Valley Science Fairs (DVSF)?.
Gain personal satisfaction and inspiration from motivated future scientists and engineers.
Demonstrate your support for STEM education in a not-for-profit organization.
Earn community service or outreach credit.
Take a break and give back to a good cause.
DVSF is will have over 900 students, 300 schools and 200 teachers from the tri-state area. The awards are just under 3 million dollars and over 200 scholarships! It’s a 4-day event. Give a block of time, a full day or, all 4 days! We give on-the-job training, free parking and lunch. Plus.
·       You get to see firsthand what middle school and high school students are doing in STEM research today, in the tri-state area.
·       Share your expertise; everyone has a skill/experience from which someone else can benefit from or, learn something new.
·       Make an impact; volunteering at DVSF allows you to choose where and how to make a difference.
·       DVSF volunteers receive; on-the-job-training, lunch, free parking school, community, professional credit.
·       We need you. There’s a ‘job’ for everyone, of all ages (18 to 100).
What is DVSF’s criteria to volunteer?
·       Must be 18 or older (no children allowed to join you, sorry).
·       You don’t need to be in the science field, or have an advance degree. You may just like ‘giving back’ and like working with students.

ASQ Philadelphia Live Event Cancellation Advisory

Members and Friends:

These are unusual and extraordinary health and safety events unfolding. As Leaders in our Quality Community, ASQ Philadelphia is committed to first and foremost, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our member community and the businesses and communities in which we live and serve.

The US President and the PA State Governor have instructed for non-essential in-person events and activities to be suspended extending “stay home” instructions through 4/8, and that all persons practice social distancing as well as hygiene and health instructions of Federal Health Authorities.

The ASQ Philadelphia Leadership announces that we are honoring the directive of Federal, State, and Local authorities by canceling and/or postponing all “In-Person” upcoming scheduled Program Events effective Monday, March 16th through the end of JUNE 2020.

We invite our members and friends to take advantage of personal available time for new skills development by registering for remote learning. All fees paid for events either canceled or suspended will be reimbursed by the method of original payment, so please check your account to verify you have received returned funds. If you are experiencing financial hardship in support of Certification needs or questions about refunds, direct these by mail to Dr. Chris Connors (phone: 610-864-8637).

ASQ Philly Section Program Schedule is under evaluation to determine the feasibility of rescheduling when conditions improve, hopefully in the second semester of this year. Watch our site for updates. You may contact Programs Chair: Jeff Korsyn or Co-Chair Janet Lentz should you be interested in earning RU’s by volunteering.

Leadership meetings will continue on the second Wednesday of each month by Go-To-Meeting only through June. Do NOT travel to the Plymouth Meeting Mall, as this location is closed at this time.
