The typical ASQ CSSGB candidate
The typical CSSGB candidate is inclined to work on improvement project teams on a part-time basis, contributing higher process yields, less internal rework, shorter lead times, an better cash flow. The candidate knows that this credentialing demands a working knowledge of the D.M.A.I.C. framework for improvement project work, and quantification of return on investment back to the company.
Those who earn this credential are project managers, associate project managers, functional managers, team leaders, programmers/systems analysts, and business and technical process owners. The ASQ exam application does require self-declaration of having 3 years of actual process improvement work experience without peer testimony or portfolio.

The course material
Jay will walk through the entire certification body of knowledge and discuss typical ASQ Exam multiple-choice questions and answers. Students will have weekly reading assignments from the primer which includes homework problems, thus developing the comfort and confidence with the CSSGB body of knowledge which makes the exam much easier. MP4 video recording files of the live sessions will be posted to an instructor Google drive, enabling all students to easily catch-up on their own for a missed class. The live class recordings are shared with students through March 2021.
The course material used is the Quality Council of Indiana’s CSSGB Primer, $75 plus shipping, which students need to purchase separately. The optional Solutions Guide is also recommended at $35 plus shipping. https://www.qualitycouncil.com/cssgb/
Be mindful, this course does not teach. It is not training. If an in-depth level of training on the statistical basis of quality improvement tools within the D.M.A.I.C. framework is sought, then readers might consider one of the following: $1,895 ASQ HQ 92-hour self-paced training course https://asq.org/training/lean-six-sigma-green-belt-lssgb01ms; or, $4,499 ASQ HQ 62-hour classroom-based training course https://asq.org/training/lean-six-sigma-green-belt-training-ssg
