Hello Quality Professionals;
Here is Section 505’s Education and Training Schedule from January to May 2010
The Section Leadership has authorized free tuition for all certification preparation / refresher courses for ASQ members who are unemployed or under-employed.
Once again the Section will use Eventrite.com as our ON-LINE registration system. For those who have logged on for either an education course or for a program meeting, it is an easy and straight forward registration process for our dinner meetings but it is a bit confusing for course registration. This is because the Section does not know if a course can be held until the minimum number of paying students is reached. Feel free to contact the Registrar, Kay Croll, (phone: 610-696-7589, email: captkmcc@verizon.net) for assistance.
This year the Section has restricted the registration interval. The course opens 2 months before the first day of class and closes 8 days before the start date. Please register early to ensure that the course may be held.
You can see the details (abstract, dates, costs, prerequisites) -- Simply view the listings on eventbrite.com
Alternatively, click on the course link from the 2010 Spring Course Schedule.
If you want to take a course, complete the registration process and choose one of these options. There is no penalty for registering since the Section does not bill unless the course is held. Select either::
Pay by check
Pay with invoice –This is typically initiated with a company purchase order
When a course is confirmed as a GO - the Instructor will notify you – payment is expected before the class starts unless other arrangements have been made with the Education Registrar.
Your payment by check, credit card (VISA, MC and AMEX) or company invoice payable to ‘ASQ Philadelphia Section 505’, must be sent to the Education Registrar at:
ASQ Philadelphia Education Registrar 149 Kirkland Ave. West Chester, PA 19380-3982
For questions and arrangements, contact the Registrar by Email: captkmcc@verizon.net, or Phone: 610-696-7589
The Ed. Chair and the Registrar monitor the registration pages for each course and decide if there is the required minimum for holding the course. You too can monitor this by:
· Noting the difference between 10 and the number of available registrations remaining as shown in the ‘Tickets Available’ field for each class of ticket (ASQ member, Non-member).
· Example, if there are 7 tickets remaining in the ASQ member field and 6 tickets remaining in the Non-member field, the number of registrants is 10-7 = 3 registered and 10-6 = 4 registered.
· Therefore there is 3+4=7. The minimum is reached – the course is a GO.
Lastly, there is an asterisk (*) following many of the courses. This indicates that this course can be held at your company, with some customization to fit your needs, and at a savings from the classroom cost. If this is of interest to you and your management, contact the instructor directly or send your questions to the Education Chair.
