ASQ Volunteer

Become part of the team, an awesome networking opportunity

The Section knows members are very busy with work, family, and other activities. But the Section asks you to please consider the following ways to help our Section continue to provide the excellent services to our members. Without volunteers the Section could literally fold. Also volunteering for the Section enables you to accumulate points over a three year period that enables you to recertify your ASQ certification without re-taking the exam. So please consider volunteering your time helping the Leadership Team. Here are some suggested opportunities for you to get involved:

Help with registration at an evening program. Contact our Program Chair, Mark Klutchka and let him know that you can help out and then come to the program 30 minutes early to help set up and then process the registrations and hand out name tags at the registration table.

Help contact new members each month. Every month the Membership Chair, Chris Connors gets a list of the new members for the prior month. The Membership Chair then sends that list to three to five volunteers who call the new members and welcome them to the section. The only take about 20 to 30 minutes a month and each month you can let the Membership Chair know if you can help out. Another benefit of helping out with the welcome of new members is that there is an ASQ Philly Certification scholarship of up to $350 to complete one of the twenty ASQ certifications. Once you get notification of passing the certification exam, just send in the payment receipt for your certification to apply for the scholarship. Last year the certification scholarship enabled one volunteer to get $329 for completing the QM/OE certification.

Help plan a program. Perhaps you have a topic that you would like to present that would be of interest to our members. Or perhaps you know of a speaker who would like to present a topic. Contact the Program Chair and let him know how you would like to help plan a program.

Help proctor a certification exam. The certification exams in the Philly area require a proctor for the 3 or 4 hour exam. Just let the Certification Chair, Al Altopiedi know your can help out.

Help provide content to the ASQ Philly website or newsletter. Our website is only as good as the ease of access to the content that can inform and enrich our members. Perhaps you have an article you have written that would have value to our members.

Join the Section’s leadership team. This team meets on the first Wednesday of each month to plan and coordinate programs, handle section business, and manage the progress of the Section’s operations toward our yearly goals. New and vibrant perspectives help us generate ideas and strategies to keep ASQ Philly Section 0505 as one of the top sections in ASQ.
